November update continued

Sandy and Mary have had a great weekend at Kisenge catching up on emailing. Our system is not working so we have been grateful to have the use of the Kisenge system and undisturbed time to catch up. Also I saw a place on the Ruashi river where they are diving for gold that was really interesting.

November update

Thanks to the generosity of the Governor of Katanga Province we have purchased 75 mattresses for hospital they are currently at the station in Lubumbashi awaiting transport to Katoka. We hope they will arrive before Christmas.

One thing which did arrive was the set of flat pack cupboards for the Prem Baby Unit. The photo shows the installation in progress.
Mutunda and Elie are the carpenters.

Just introducing
the midwives from the
Katoka Maternity.
Vumbi, Musenga,Kafuchi,
Mary,Chantal, Kaji and Nangoie.
Katoka is in the South West corner of
Katonga Province DR Congo
and we keep busy with 850 deliveries a year.
We were very sorry
to loose Annie and Tony Harvey this month,
they had spent 6 mths with us helping in
all sorts of ways at the mission so we miss them greatly
now that they have gone back to UK.
